Chris Reid grew up in Winnipeg, Canada and has always had a passion for acting on stage and creating short films. Since he was 10 years old, he has been to years of acting lessons at Manitoba Theatre for Young People (MTYP). His credits with MTYP include Harold in A Crowded House (1994), Thomas in Beat That Bongo (1995), Cinderfella in Cinderfella (1996), Farmer Dell in Names & Nicknames (1997), and Goose 12 in Branta Canadensis (1998).
After school committments got in the way, Chris' acting career halted until 2005.
Chris accepted a job offer in Dauphin, Manitoba where he was the morning show news anchor for 730 CKDM. While spending a year in the Parkland region of Manitoba, Chris landed a role in a two-and-a-half hour comedy by Ken Ludwig, Lend Me A Tenor. The successful run of this production would go to Gimli, Manitoba later that year.
Upon moving back to Winnipeg and earning his Diploma in Communications years after entering the broadcasting industry, Chris became part of Fantasy Theatre for Children, landing numerous roles since 2007 (see resume below).
Chris has also been part of Merlyn Productions in early 2009. He is also known for his role in Chase & Hamill's HEY ABBOTT! - A Classic Comedy Tribute Show, playing a greedy Las Vegas Hotel Owner.
Chris is currently employed at the University of Manitoba in Public Affairs, and aside from this, is heading up Creepers, a movie set to be released in 2010, which takes place in Dauphin, Manitoba.
Chris is also the current host of The Weekend Wakeup Show, every Saturday and Sunday morning on The Superstation, CJOB 68. Tune in to listen live on the radio...680AM in Winnipeg or listen online via their website over at www.cjob.com.
